The WongAvery Gallery, a new stone-built music practice and performance space at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, replaced a modest early 20th-century lean-to by Albert Richardson. Designed to accommodate music rehearsals, small performances, and to house the College’s rare historic harpsichord, the new building was sensitively integrated into the court’s south wall. Haysom Purbeck Stone supplied Purbeck Spangle paving for the interior, contributing to the gallery’s refined atmosphere. One of the slabs featured a striking ammonite fossil, highlighting the natural beauty and geological heritage of the stone within this elegant and purpose-built musical space.
